Currently 45,000 of America's wild horses live in U.S. government holding facilities.

These magnificent wild horses have been gathered by the Bureau of Land Management from their natural grazing areas within the United States and placed in holding facilities. A small number will find homes through the BLM adoption program. The remainder will have a life sentence in captivity. The BLM has no plans to ever return them to the wild.

There are now more wild horses in government holding than there are horses living in the wild. The horses in holding are well cared for, but this is no life for an intelligent, wild animal that is accustomed to freedom!
